Grace Costanzo
Grace Costanzo is a Registered S2C Practitioner who works with spellers individually and in groups. During her sessions, she teaches communication access skills by delivering lessons on various topics of interest to spellers. She is also a Special Education Itinerant Teacher (SEIT) for children ages 3-5 and an independent DOE provider of Special Education Teacher Support Services (SETSS) for ages 6-21 years. Her NYS Special Education Certification is for ages Birth-21 years.
Grace believes that every person, regardless of their presenting abilities, should be seen as a competent human being. All people, including those with neurological differences, should be afforded the opportunity to communicate. By presuming competence and giving time and patience, people with disabilities will show you that their abilities are vast and that they have a thirst to communicate their thoughts to the world.
Grace holds a Master’s Degree in Special Education from Wagner College and a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from Brooklyn College. She enjoys traveling, cooking, eating, exercising and reading. Her outlook on the future is that, “there is never enough time in a day to accomplish everything I would like to achieve so I always look forward to tomorrow.”
